Yeah, it's a Monday. Lacey is having a Canadian Thanksgiving and I said I'd come round, but I wondered if you wanted to come with? I'm sure she wouldn't mind if I brought a friend.

( Short pause between texts. )

Also, she asked me to bring a bottle of wine and when I went to the liquor store yesterday, they wouldn't sell it to me. America sucks. But mostly just because I thought it might be fun.

( Yeah, because it isn't like they spend enough time together already, right? )

... LOL. yeah, America has this stupid age rule for alcohol. I mostly get around it with a fake ID. Shh, don't tell. Haha. But sure, I can totally do that for you.

Right, laugh it up, it's really funny that I'm suddenly not allowed to do the one thing I was excited about turning 19 to be able to do, hilarious. But thank you and your secret's safe with me.

Oh man, I don't know when it is. It's like the last Thursday of the month or something. So, late november for sure. But hey, I'm always down to meet new people.

We need to get you a fake ID or something. I know a guy, haha.

Honestly, I wouldn't have minded celebrating it with my family, but after the party yesterday and how things got... well, anyhow. After all that I doubt the family will be much into coming together. So I don't know.

It's fine though. Just another holiday here, right? Does Australia not have a day for giving thanks?

...yeah... I mean, if you really want Thanksgiving, then maybe have it and just set down ground rules and be prepared to put your foot down, even if it upsets people. No fighting, no talking about the past, no stressing each other out, or whatever, or else you'll kick them out of the celebration.

Or skip it and we can take the long weekend to do a little miniature road trip and cross some things off your bucket list.

Not like you lot do, no, not really. Or if we do, my dad and I never celebrated it.

Or I like having a reason to bother you more often.

( She immediately wishes she could unsend that last one, but alas... )

I know it might sound dumb, but if the family does want to do something, I don't want to be the only one not there. They've gone through that before. But, since the long weekend starts on thursday and thursday is thanksgiving, maybe we can take off shortly after. Runn a quick jaunt from Jeopardy to Nonah maybe? See the sights in between.

But yeah, we could do that. Or if we want to do something shorter, we could do the drive to California and take the scenic route, if we need more time. I dunno how long it will take to drive from Jeopardy to Nonah...if we have enough time, though, sure!

A trip down the california coast would be good. Though it'll be november, so it might be too cold to swim any of it. Though, maybe not for you. That actually sounds like a good plan.

Maybe hit Disneyland in the process...

No, of course I'm not. But I can warm the area you happen to be in when you happen to be in it and you can't stop me. So there.

Cleo sort of grins and bears it. Emma used to call me on it. Bella, I guess, just sort of...well, she's sweet, she sort of does what Cleo does.

( It's Zane, really, who used to deal with it the best way, by countering and getting the banter going, but she isn't going to say that. She's not even willing to entertain that thought. )

LOL okay, so wee have plans. hot tub ocean adventure, coast line drive and disneyland. Seems reasonable for four or five days off.
